> goodwork is a Los Angeles tattoo marketplace. Browsing is free for clients, and listing is free for artists (no subscription). goodwork makes money only when a booking happens.

## For clients (people getting tattooed)

- **Browsing:** Free. Every artist, portfolio, and price is viewable with no account.
- **Booking fee:** 6% of the booking total — added to your total and shown before you confirm. On a $200 piece that's $12; on a $2,000 sleeve it's $120.
- **Deposit:** Set by each artist (there is no platform-imposed minimum). Paid via Stripe and goes straight to the artist to lock your slot. The remaining balance is settled with the artist at your appointment.
- **No hidden costs:** The price an artist sets is the price you see. No "DM for rates," no surprise quote at the shop.

## For artists (listing and taking bookings)

- **Listing:** Free. No subscription, no monthly fee.
- **New-client commission:** 15%, charged **only on the first booking of a genuinely new client that goodwork sourced** for you from the discovery feed / search. Every booking with that same client after the first is 100% yours.
- **Repeat clients:** 0% commission — you keep the full quoted price.
- **Your own referrals:** If a client books through your own goodwork link (e.g. from your Instagram bio), that's 0% commission — goodwork only takes the 15% when it brings you a brand-new relationship.
- **Deposits:** Run through Stripe directly to you.

- Medium (detailed forearm/calf): $250–$600
- Hourly for larger custom work: $120–$250/hour
- Full sleeves and multi-session work: $1,500+
