how they work
both charge once, on a new client's first booking
goodwork and tattoodo work the same basic way. listing is free. when the app brings you someone new and they get tattooed, the app takes a cut of that one booking. after that, the client is yours.
- 1a new client finds you on the appthey found your work there, not through you.
- 2they get tattooedthe app takes its cut of that first appointment. tattoodo bills you after the appointment, once a month.
- 3they come backevery booking after that is free on both.
on both, your own clients don't cost you anything. on goodwork that means anyone who books through your own goodwork link. on tattoodo it means clients already on your list, imported clients, and anyone who books through your tattoodo booking link.
the rate
goodwork is always 15%. tattoodo goes from 20% down to 10%
tattoodo's cut, by paid tattoodo bookings that month
from tattoodo's artist rewards page (last updated october 16, 2025). only bookings paid through tattoodo, a deposit or the full price, count toward your level.
goodwork's cut
the math
on a $400 tattoo for a new client, here's what you keep
when that client comes back for a second tattoo, you keep the whole $400 on both apps.
tattoodo bookings a month? goodwork costs you less.
that's where most artists are. 10 to 19 a month is a tie.
tattoodo bookings a month? tattoodo costs you less.
at that level tattoodo's 10% beats our 15%. that's just the math.
the client's side
both add a small fee for the client, not you
neither fee comes out of your price.
the other differences
a few things that aren't the percentage
if you travel, guest spot in other countries, or want reach outside socal, tattoodo goes places goodwork doesn't. if your clients are here, goodwork is built for exactly that.
so which one?
you don't have to pick. you can be on both
what to do with this
- list on both. you only pay either one when they actually bring you someone new.
- put your own booking link in your instagram bio, so your own followers never cost you a fee on either app.
- if you get 20+ paid tattoodo bookings a month, tattoodo's 10% is the lower cut on new clients. that's worth knowing.
- in socal and under that? goodwork is free to list, and the 15% only happens once per new client.

on goodwork
be on both. list on goodwork free
